Wavecrest, the granddaddy of all Woodie meets. Once a year, usually on the third Saturday of September, Woodies gather at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas California (15 miles north of San Diego). Wavecrest is the longest running and largest gathering of woodies in the world. Woodies begin arriving in the wee hours and by 8 am there are Woodies of every size, shape and description on display. Throughout the day there was Hawaiian and surf music performed live with the sounds of the Pacific Ocean in the background and sand between your toes, the setting is perfect for these beautiful cars.
